If you are looking for excellent performance in a pickup truck, then you need to take a look at the 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor. Not only does this truck perform well when it comes to handling towing and payload, but its performance off-road and on is very impressive as well. Originally introduced in 2009 as a dedicated off-road warrior, the Raptor was powered by either a 5.4-liter or a 6.2-liter V8 engine, had enormous Fox Racing shocks, along with 35-inch tires and stole the hearts and minds of truck enthusiasts. The 2019 version of the Raptor is more refined, more powerful and delivers better performance than ever before.
On The Outside
Built on a brand new f-series platform, the 2019 Raptor has the same chassis but with a robust, muscular high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body that’s 800 pounds lighter than before. It has a new chrome grille that features Ford written in massive block letters, very aggressive LED headlights, accent color performance bumpers, flared front fenders and pickup box outers, massive skid plates, stylish, aerodynamic shoulder and body lines, a big bed, enhanced rear appliqué, LED taillights, twin tow hooks on the bumpers in the front and rear and 17-inch cast aluminum wheels with 35 inch tires. It’s available in a variety of colors including Agate Black, Velocity Blue and Ford Performance Blue.
On The Inside
The interior of the 2019 Raptor features an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, leather-wrapped, sport style manual tilting and telescoping steering wheel with paddle shifters and thumb pads, push-button start, leather upholstery, center dash 8-inch infotainment screen with satellite navigation, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability and instrument panel, door and shifter adorned with carbon-fiber applique. There’s also an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a rear view camera, automatic climate control and a WiFi hotspot. Available upgrades include heated and vented seats or new Recaro bucket seats featuring Alcantara trim, dual-zone climate control and heated, auto-dimming side mirrors.
Safety And Driver Assistance Features
Although the 2019 Ford Raptor is designed to handle even the most rough, rugged and raw terrain conditions on-road and off-road, it also has a host excellent safety and driver assistance features. They include lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control featuring stop-and-go, pre-collision assist, automatic emergency braking and blind-spot assistance with cross-traffic alert. There’s also automatic high beams, AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control, three-point active restraint seatbelt system with pretensioners and driver, front and rear passenger front, seat-mounted side and safety canopy side curtain airbags. Plus, the 2019 Raptor has four-wheel anti-lock brakes, curve control and dynamic hitch assist.
Under The Hood
The powertrain of the Raptor allows it to do things no other pickup truck can do. The 3.5-liter 450 horsepower V-6 EcoBoost engine that powers the truck produces 510 pound-feet of torque. Working with the new 10-speed automatic transmission Ford recently created, the 2019 Raptor goes from standing still to 60 miles per hour in a breathtaking 5.9 seconds. As the truck accelerates, you can feel the power increasing at every stage, yet it is still very fuel efficient. Plus, it has a maximum towing capacity of 7,998.3 pounds.
The underpinnings of the 2019 Raptor boast electronically controlled massive Fox racing shocks that have been increased 3 inches in diameter. This allows it to jump higher and absorb harder landings. Plus, it has the newly created Live Valve technology in its shocks which essentially gives it an adaptive suspension. The system can read the throttle, steering and braking before determining how it should react. It also has sensors that can recognize if the pickup is in midair and then decide how stiff to make the struts to absorb the landing. Its new Trail Control feature lets the driver take their foot off the accelerator and focus on avoiding obstacles and maneuvering through rough terrain at a slow constant speed. They can also get help from the available 360-degree camera.
Unmatched Power And Capability
No other pickup truck can match the 2019 Raptor for power and on and off-road performance. Originally designed to deliver blazing speed and incredible handling off-road, the new Raptor is faster, more powerful, capable and fuel efficient and better looking than the competition. It’s a comfortable, technologically-advanced performance pickup with no peers. Add its newly-designed optional beadlock-capable wheels, superb vehicle control and incredible suspension and the upgraded 2019 F-150 Raptor gives drivers the confidence to take the truck anywhere, on-road or off-road.
On And Off-Road King
Built at Ford’s Dearborn Truck Plant, the performance pickup 2019 Ford Raptor with its enhanced internal bypass shocks, damping continuously adjusting in real-time, automatically varying compression rates that get more out of its 13 inches of front and 13.9 inches of rear suspension travel and retooled low-speed handling for navigating challenging conditions, is the king of the super-truck sector.
